Very similar to debit cards, pre paid credit cards offer those who can not otherwise get approved for an unsecured card, a way to obtain their own credit card. Some pre paid credit cards even offer discounts at participating stores. Cardholders can also enjoy making online purchases that they would otherwise be unable to make without a credit card. Pre paid cards can also be used for other purposes as well. Employers can give their employees a credit card to make purchases and limit those purchases by controlling the amount of funds available in the card. Parents can also use pre paid credit cards to send their college-aged kids money when they need it. The advent of pre paid credit cards has given almost everybody the ability to posses their own card.
